Hello all,
I am now back on the poker trail after a disappointing end to 2009.
I have decided this year to get back to basics and start playing for the fun of the game (yes it's a game NOT a sport), so I have decided to emulate the 2000 World Champion - Chris 'Jesus' Ferguson (http://www.chrisferguson.com/article-4) by building up a bankroll from $0.00 to a target of $1,000 by the end of the year.
I will be following these 'rules' to the letter:
- · I'll never buy into a cash game or a Sit & Go with more than 5 percent of my total bankroll (there is an exception for the lowest limits: I'm allowed to buy into any game with a buy-in of $2.50 or less).
- · I won't buy into a multi-table tournament for more than 2 percent of my total bankroll and I'm allowed to buy into any multi-table tournament that costs $1.
- · If at any time during a No-Limit or Pot-Limit cash-game session the money on the table represents more than 10 percent of my total bankroll, I must leave the game when the blinds reach me.
I have already began this challenge, and after 15 days, I have played 22 freerolls on Pokerstars (as part of their £2,000 Daily Giveaway Freerolls - exclusive to UK and IRE players) . The tournaments on Pokerstars consist of a £2,000 added tournament (with optional 50c rebuys and add-ons - where I only add-on if I have built up a stack during the rebuy period and I NEVER rebuy) and a £250 second chance freezeout freeroll.
Out of these tournaments I have cashed 7 times - three in the £2k and 4 in the £250.
My current total reads $12.55 with a best place finish of 47th out of 5204 for $8.39 (which after the add-on was a profit of $7.89).
As well as these freerolls tomorrow, I will be playing the Everyone's a Winner tournament (a 50c buy-in with $5k added) with the added benefit of an invitation to a $3,000 freeroll on the 15th February for every player who plays in tomorrow's tournament.
Wish me the best of luck everyone.
Good luck all!
