New update (sorry for wait)

Hello all,

Sorry for the lack of updates, but have been rather busy with other things. First all - I have set up a facebook group http://www.facebook.com/group.php?v=info&ref=ts&gid=288656797608, so please join and follow me on there as well, I will endeavour to keep both updated as much as possible.

My current balance stands at $40.34 (which is currently made up of 2 currencies on Pokerstars ($40.19 + £0.10)) and I have already brought into tonight's Everyone's a Winner (£1500 added) for £0.50.

This current bankroll was mainly topped up by a good run in the first F40 40FPPs $40k special tournaments that Pstars has been running all week, where I finished 218th out of 41083 for a very nice $17.60. There are 2 notes that must be made for specific tournament. Once again I had swapped with Scotch1903, so technically a small % of that win is his, but ALSO that this tournament buy-in (40 FPPs) was taken from points that I had accrued last year so maybe should not even be eligible for this challenge - any ideas?

Also last Sunday I played 3 of 40 man SNGs F40 ($1.10 buy-in) that they were running, and finished a disappointing 11th, 26th and 29th, so as of that morning my bankroll actually fell a bit.

It seems from my graph that I get a could 'win' every Sunday - so I hope that continues today, though I have tried a $1.10 satellite for the $250k ($11 buy-in) but crashed out of that as well.

Good luck all

Hopefully I can update more often next week.

Many Thanks

'Big' cash achieved in the "Everyone's a Winner" Tournament

Hello all,

I have now reached a total of $23.71 after a deep finish in a 50c buy-in MTT last night (the "Everyone's a Winner" tournament on Pokerstars). There was a field of 3416 with $5k added which made a prize fund of $6708. I finished a very respectful 56th place for $11.40.

Generally played well throughout, though maybe didn't steal quite as much as I should have late on in the tournament. Big hand included this one where my KK failed to hold - http://www.pokerhand.org/?5163677

A big thank you for DavieA/ Scotch1903 who railed me in this tourney, as well as swapping 10% (so technically 90c of this roll is his at the moment, as he finished a 'lowly' 600 odd hehe)

On the same night I cashed the £250 freeroll for 26c after crashing out of the £2k with AK

I will try to update my challenge at least weekly (time permitting of course).

Best of luck all.

SonicMan555 is BACK!

Hello all,

I am now back on the poker trail after a disappointing end to 2009.

I have decided this year to get back to basics and start playing for the fun of the game (yes it's a game NOT a sport), so I have decided to emulate the 2000 World Champion - Chris 'Jesus' Ferguson (http://www.chrisferguson.com/article-4) by building up a bankroll from $0.00 to a target of $1,000 by the end of the year.

I will be following these 'rules' to the letter:

  • · I'll never buy into a cash game or a Sit & Go with more than 5 percent of my total bankroll (there is an exception for the lowest limits: I'm allowed to buy into any game with a buy-in of $2.50 or less).

  • · I won't buy into a multi-table tournament for more than 2 percent of my total bankroll and I'm allowed to buy into any multi-table tournament that costs $1.

  • · If at any time during a No-Limit or Pot-Limit cash-game session the money on the table represents more than 10 percent of my total bankroll, I must leave the game when the blinds reach me.

I have already began this challenge, and after 15 days, I have played 22 freerolls on Pokerstars (as part of their £2,000 Daily Giveaway Freerolls - exclusive to UK and IRE players) . The tournaments on Pokerstars consist of a £2,000 added tournament (with optional 50c rebuys and add-ons - where I only add-on if I have built up a stack during the rebuy period and I NEVER rebuy) and a £250 second chance freezeout freeroll.

Out of these tournaments I have cashed 7 times - three in the £2k and 4 in the £250.

My current total reads $12.55 with a best place finish of 47th out of 5204 for $8.39 (which after the add-on was a profit of $7.89).

As well as these freerolls tomorrow, I will be playing the Everyone's a Winner tournament (a 50c buy-in with $5k added) with the added benefit of an invitation to a $3,000 freeroll on the 15th February for every player who plays in tomorrow's tournament.

Wish me the best of luck everyone.

Good luck all!
